Mick Stump relocated his studio to a village near Oakham two years ago. His new rural environment has inspired a dramatic change in subject matter.
"As with my paintings and drawings of architecture, my goal with each piece is to stay faithful to the subject, while elevating one particular aspect of it. This could be a striking effect of light on the subject, the distinctiveness of its form, or even the drama of the weather."
